Through a soldier's eyes

Through a soldier's eyes

A Poem by Ashley
"

A random poem i wrote a long time ago about a soldier.

"

In this world, I see
Fallen men surround me
Bullets grazing and guns held high
All make this blood red sky
Blood stained hands
Cover tear filled eyes
Only memories left of fallen battle cries
People wishing for just one day to go by
Knowing they could die

Patrolling the battle grounds
You feel a force
  Frantically noticing the source
As you clench your chest
Slowly losing breath as you step
Falling to your knees
Wishing
Pleading
Saying please
I hope I served grand
I just wanted to lend this country a hand

Wish my family well
Because I will not end up in hell

This is really very beautiful. As I was reading this, I was reminded of the movie PRIVATE RYAN. You have some powerful images throughout your piece which give it a rather engaging dramatic effect. Some great work here.

A nice portrayal of the soldier and his true presence in the midst of war! I like it very much.

Thank you.

I really like this one. It was probably what made me write that one poem of mine that you saw. ^_^ Nice indeed. It has a good flow to it.
