This PoemA Poem by caterpillargirl
This poem came and touched my lips
Brining forth words like kisses to the air. I blow them, one by one, And hope each might fall to find his face As raindrops maybe, someday. This poem came as I walked along a river. I wandered along her gentle banks, Picking up stones as I went upstream I collected the stones like lost memories Once thrown so easy beneath the water. Oh, what ripples are created From such a little rock Dropped from a careless hand. But I find my pebbles, one by one. This poem came As the nearly-full moon rose ahead And the sun was setting behind. And I wondered, where have all the people gone? Why should I be walking alone in such beauty? Yet the solitude was soothing to my wounds. If I could, I would fly to him with wings like snow. But all I can do is offer these words like kisses. All I can hope is one might find him downwind. All I can take with me is a pocket full of stones, And all I think are thoughts hard as granite. As this poem came to me I found an old mother pine. She says, "I've missed you." I sat under her arms spread wide. I sat and sent words to those I love. To mother to father to brother to sister- To grandma in her kitchen chair, Sending up prayers in the afternoon Like kisses to heaven. All the world is waiting, All the world is watching On the the edge of it's seat To see what will happen next. This poem comes to me As I'm finding my way back home. It comes with no answers. I send it down the river currents And on the breezes - Just like blowing kisses in the air © 2010 caterpillargirl |
