LOOK DEEP

When you look at me you see the crazy, out going, hard worker and so on

You see a person who is enjoying life

You see someone who has a bright future ahead of him

There is more to that then what meets the eyes

Look really deep into my eyes

Look really deep you will see someone that has had to struggle

Someone that things haven't not come to

Someone who has been told they there were going to be nothing

That was going to be worthless and not successful in life

Just going to be a loser and waste of space

Someone who was picked on through out their education career

That was never given a chance to be show people who they really were

A person who loved school but hated going

Look really deep and you will see something else

wow, this poem in itself is deep in a way. The darkest realities of life, we use our masks to hide ourselves, to protect ourselves, and to cover the past. We think it's good for us, to cover and bury our tracks/past, but really, all we're doing is digging a deeper hole for ourselves. We're sinking, and it's getting harder and harder to climb up again...
Our masks hide our true selves, our masks ruin our lives eventually. But for the time being, it's in our good books. Love this poem, there really is much more than what meets the eyes. "Look really deep and you will see something else" great ending line to an amazingly written poem.

Everyone hides behind a mask and sometimes the most important parts are the ones left unseen. I wonder often if anyone really sees me if anyone really knows me. Judgments are passed out freely but at what cost. This poem projects those feeling perfectly.

I found this a very relatable write that really hit home. I, too, faced a great deal of bullying throughout school and so I understand a good deal of which you speak.

I really like this, Justin. I can see how people can relate to this. It's a lot of people's life story. It's horrible how some people are treated. I don't judge a person for their looks or story. I get to know the person and try to figure what they're all about. You know? There are a lot of people that are successful now and are envied but some people do not realize the struggles and heartaches that they went through to get to that point in life. I know of an excellent example: Tyler Perry. He was poor most of his life and lived in a car. I believe so. Now look at him! He has millions of dollars and is happy. Some people aren't strong or brave enough to look deep enough into someone's eyes. Coming from someone that doesn't know what fame or wealth feels like, I can relate. Great write. :)
