Life Is MineA Poem by Cassie WellerBased on the art piece by Michelangelo "The Creation of Adam"That moment, I knew not the time
when started breath and quiet trill of heartbeat, sound, and eyes once blind a fluttering current, peaceful thrill. When darkness- all that was before in radiant burst encaptured light and glorious views from sea to shore encompassed all I know as sight. The sound, a mighty crashing wave a drum of harsh yet joyous rush a sweetness all my being had craved from shrieking chirp to purring hush. When fresh embrace of dewy hill and stately waft of salty air evoked a sense desiring fill of scented breath from earthly fare. As lifted I from pillow ground the softest touch from earthen bed where skin met earth and gentle found the breeze surrounding heavy head. The King of love stood over me with pride in gaze at what was wrought when clay at once received to be the vessel that Companion sought. At once I opened mouth to voice to praise the Maker of my being and tasted honey words of choice that glory gave in high esteem. Who am I? What have I of worth to be so treasured, made Divine? Accepting still Creation's birth and holding honor- life is mine. © 2017 Cassie WellerAuthor's Note
