Sensing

Sensing

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

written after The Wind Chime Tree

"
It was almost as if
Solo knew

sensing the violence
of steel blade slicing
through soft flesh

she sat on her hind legs
beside the wind chime tree
her eyes fixed on mine
then on the moving mobiles
as they twisted and trembled
on bare branches
tinkling in winter cold

then in solidarity she joined in
whimpering across the valley
my dog whimpered for
a boy departed she had
never known

Violence is a terrible thing and has no place in a mind at peace with itself. Beautifully written and thought-provoking. Exceptional ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

We don't call the wind chimes here Chis. We call them instant tinnitus! 😃
They do say dogs pick up on their human friends emotions and I reckon they do.

We were but all calm now.
A sad ethereal tale of a loss before it has happened and the dog could feel it coming on the winter wind.

Penned very well and this tells a story that makes the mind think and the winter wind seeps into the bones

Chris, dogs are so highly sensitive to mood she must have picked up on the sad vibrations and mourned in her own special way ..
