Fragile

Fragile

A Poem by Chris Shaw

brown eyed girl
warm chocolate melting
soft curl a fountain
tickles on her left ear
a tumble of summer cornfield
half smile from a white cotton pillow
sheet turned down
three days in
how long this piece of string
blue curtains tremble
roller coaster heartbeat
another day passes
pawns in waiting
breathe a sigh of relief
half baked peace
family ghosts whisper

I thought it sounded like a collection of dream elements your subconscience pointed out in an attempt to use each as a title for future poems.

Interesting read, Chris.

Wow! A very sad tale of this fragile life; I took it as abortion, a loss of her embryo and I could be wrong. Hence the strings, the time awaited , the roller coaster heartbeat.
Roller Coaster Heartbeat can be a good title for a poem.

I like it. Different views
A nice free flowing thought piece, slightly jumbled but not so much that the content becomes a puzzle. For some reason while reading I was catching flashes of the book, Bridges of Madison County. Great read.

Dear Chris
Your words are a bit haunting, yet I think these are reflection of your life, intertwined with family ghosts ; memories running from childhood to the present in broken thoughts
Daydreaming a bit about life …. One thought not necessarily leads to another… I do it all the time…. Every word is vivid and has a meaning…. Nice write; thank you for sharing

Warmly, B
i always like stream-of-consciousness writing, it does something for me. this track of thoughts like a runaway train creates collage of your life. and getting this blink from your life, it is clear you have experienced a lot and there were so many good things about it. dazzling work.

Thank you Tony for sharing your thoughts. Always valued and appreciated.

Chris
We're you listening to Van Morrison perchance? This played like an old filmreel, silently throwing up it's images to your thoughts, like a wordless dream, that ends in more of a fevered dream state than is good for you.
Those family ghosts whispering won't half ruin a good sleep-byes!

I have the feeling that the tumble of summer cornfield and the sigh of relief are related, but I won't r say more than that.

Chris,
You have described the interior lives of every poet I've ever known... minds entangled with spirits, floating hither and thither, tethered only long enough to put a few words on paper... lovely, indeed
