Casting Out The Shadows

Casting Out The Shadows

A Poem by Chris Shaw

i do not fear the darkness
though i much prefer the light
while moonshine mid the scattered stars
are friends i meet by night

the sun’s rays on the garden
are a wonder to behold
dispelling all the gloom of shade
replacing it with gold

yet the flickering of candles
as they drip their life away
will usher in a peace of mind
whatever time of day

so surely what we seek the most
is a life of harmony
with those who hold us in their hearts
our friends and family

To the dearest Chris. Hope you are doing great. People are haunting me in dreams, that too they are fellow indians, i feel disgrace to them. They are like backstabbing me as they cant face me,
anyhow, i love and being loved by me is my whole purpose of my life and birth. He is really a God, his nature every other men envies,a dream boy to.women, for few he is like hot cake. For his caring heart, yielding everything of his' people wants to have him in their life as he is very soft and just listens, because most of men are like controlling, dominating, need women for social reason or either on bed. But he just cares truly from heart. A man such is like a kid, is more often missused by many for their advantage. I adore him, he knows.me very well. I dont hurt him and never taken advantage, he cares and adores me back as the lines you mentioned about sun, for the harmony they want to hav in their life

Loving you , 💙

When friends are the scattered stars, and the scattered stars are our friends! Yes, this bring up memories. I do rather like the darkness. Do I prefer sunlight? Hmm. Anyway, some lovely thoughts here, Chris.

A life of harmony, balance and peace is what many people seek and live bg for. I love the way you wrote this idea with the contrast from day and night.

Wonderful imagery (the sun’s rays on the garden; the flickering of candles as they drip their life away) and a very life-affirming tone here. Also, it speaks of wisdom to acknowledge the shadows as they are an integral and unavoidable part of our earthly garden, and our psyche.

Chris, shadows provide a contrast between the beauty of the unfilled day and the moon and star-shining night. There is bountiful beauty to be seen and appreciated, and the love of family and friends makes it whole. Thank you for your insight.
Take care - Dave

Hope you had a wonderful day Dave.
Such stellar, sublime brevity, rhymes and flows of the reader's tongue so eloquently and indeed, thoough we do most of our activities during daylight hours, the night is not to be feared rather embraced when the world and skies above take on a contrasting but still charming allure... Yep, we all should appreciate these precious times, our families and friends as human lifespans here on earth like that flickering light of the candle ephemeral!
