Savoir Faire

Savoir Faire

A Poem by Chris Shaw

the sun on lakeside water
gleams on surface glass
you can not fail to notice
that light can smother dark
it sparkles and it spangles
and here is where i’ll stay
till every drop of golden
has rinsed all doubts away

"The best things in life are free" may sound like a cliché, but as this poem reminds us, it is nevertheless true. As Emerson said, "Nature always wears the colors of the spirit," and taking notice of that creates a kind of ecstatic exuberance that this poem testifies of. It's a very vivid write that literally lights up one's soul.

You are welcome Chris.
I have no idea what Savoir Faire means but "light can smother dark" made me think ( once, darkness was all ....light came... darkness was defeated .... now, darkness is only shadow when light allows. )

Frost warned us all that "Nothing Gold Can Stay". But then, neither can we. Maybe we should just enjoy what we have while we have it. It's nice to be suave and confident but, in my opinion, even better to be humble and understanding.
