Savoir Faire

Savoir Faire

A Poem by Chris Shaw

the sun on lakeside water
gleams on surface glass
you can not fail to notice
that light can smother dark
it sparkles and it spangles
and here is where i’ll stay
till every drop of golden
has rinsed all doubts away

I can feel this write!
What is it about a still lake's shimmering bright that could wash away every doubt.
If this beautiful write can't do it, nothing will.

Dear Chris,
Very vivid imagery of the sunlit, golden lake. At night, the lake was devoid of light, its depths felt dark, steep and murky. The lake looked sinister. Then came the inevitable dawn, bringing with it sunbeams which slowly began to capture every nook and corner of the lake, filling it with light. The darkness dissolved as if a sliver of ink in an ocean. The lake dazzled and became the sun's mirror, reflecting nothing but light.
You created a superb metaphor here, for the cycle of dark and light and the absolute power of light over dark. It always reigns supreme.
Thank you for this beautiful share, today.

I enjoyed the read and adding my thoughts to it. You're most welcome, dear Chris.
Awww. The light can smother the dark indeed, just maybe. Finished off with a nice neat bit of rhyme. Concise and direct. Well done

Oh, lovely images, Chris. Lots of "s" alliteration. Very short, but very pleasant, read.
