My love

My love

A Poem by Chris Shaw

as long as trees do green their leaves in spring
and bluebells carpet woodland where we walk
as long as bird song trills for you and i
and we are wrapped in soft lace pillow talk
gazing through the skylight at the moon
our audience a wealth of spangled stars
my admiration knows no height or depth
it wanders in the blue sky that is ours
for you the holder of my beating heart
protector of my shadow at all times
for me no snow capped mountain is too high
for you the hard face surface i would climb
one glance across a room you meet my eyes
returned is love eternal as the tides

Dear Chris
I can feel the strength of the love you expressed here. It's a love that has endured life's seasons, bleak or bright and has gone from strength to strength, emerging a grand winner. Such love is eternal in its glow. This poem is such a hallmark of a relationship, beautiful beyond bounds. Kudos! ❤️
