BlessingsA Poem by Chris Shaw
look into the open heart
of a camellia in full bloom what do you see within the strata of soft silk perfection a loveliness like a chirping bird at dawn the glory of a new spring morning a warning that life is fleeting and that all too soon too soon the raindrop nested tween petals of a fine full skirted red dress will let out a sigh at the inevitable downturn and demise yet even in death the old paving is blessed with its gentle petal fall scattered crimson confetti tinctured with a fringe of decay © 2024 Chris ShawReviews
