This fine piece of work, a question that will ever so effortlessly work through my mind... Playing pretend as we once did as kids were just practice my dear, was it not? Something such decieving as a lilttle game cannot hurt can it?

I pretend to be all kinds of things. Can be a bit confusing at times! Or deceiving. Nice thoughts here, Chris. Your usual richness in brevity.

Simple and very well done. That is the question, so many are on stage when they shouldn't be.

Thanks for the smile Marve and good wishes. Take good care of yourself.
There's always room to consider this question. Many little ways in which we adjust ourselves for different people and situations. When does one begin to cross this line? So many different interpretations and philosophies, and I feel this poem bottles them up in a brilliant little bottle to ponder.

I love this piece. Every one is pretenting to be......and actors in front of society.

The world is full of manipulation and deceit... perhaps it's wise to play a part and hide the true self from those who would take advantage... but we're poets of course, and the truth is our profession. Wonderful read.

At some point we're all pretenders. When the sun goes down mischief arises. I like it Chris.
