Shade

Shade

A Poem by Chris Shaw

the sunlight in my garden
blinked and switched off cold
what happened to those leaves of birch
that flaunted all that gold
cast they are in shadow lands
and thankful for the rest
too much attention doesn’t pay
for that I can attest

Yes Chris, I concur!
I was only just this minute thinking I might fancy a walk through the nature trails and was in the process of filling a flask, before asking Katie if she fancied joining me, when I looked round, expecting to see streams of sunlight peeking through clouds, but was instead met with portents of gloom!
I'm still going though. Just need to remember to wear waterproofs, which is a sure way of rebrightening any day and leaving me sweating like a sweaty thing on national be more sweaty than usual day! 😊

attention...can be good or bad...I like the personification
of the sunlight switching itself on and off to protect the privacy of the garden
that wants only to bring joy to the one who planted her.
Sunlight to a garden can be like paparazzi to a celebrity.
Without the roses.

dearest Chris... the Winds have been dancing like a field of Barley that ripens after an Autumn rain. The colors of Amber and Magenta become entwined with Drops of Jupiter from above. Our Hearts mellow with the yellow Sun. softly, Pat

Seasonal brevity at its very best, yep, those blowing winds signal change and further signs are both observed and felt with the gradual colder air...
