Unwavering

Unwavering

A Poem by Chris Shaw

at times I hear her calling
where the foam of tides is lapping
where the seagulls hover daily
where my thoughts go gently sailing
to that black rock in the sea
there is calm upon the waters
and the silver threads in moonlight
cast a sheen upon the surface
it’s a place of perfect safety
so I drift there when I hear her
when her voice is heard in whispers
and I know that in her presence
there is peace and harmony

I am more a person that is drawn to the woods than the sea but I do see the appeal of it for those that live nearby it. Everyone has their own special place that calls to them and the sea certainly appears to call to you. In this increasingly erratic world any place that gives one peace and harmony must be cherished. If the sea could read it would be very proud of this ode written on its behalf. Some lovely description.

This is a beautiful vision. I love that you have left the who that is her vague to me it is mother nature herself but it could be my mother's soul, a lost love, Mother Mary, Isis, and on and on for each their own interpretation. Lovely

Makes me wonder who or what you hear. Takes me to a place of searching for rather than finding. An interesting write.

The movement of this poem really blew my mind. It looks innocent enough but start reading and run each line into each other and this poem sings to you. Wow, that was so cool Chris.

the kid in me still remembers.
This is a beautiful poem.

dear Chris... my Mother is always on my shoulder ... whispering of Earth where flowers and the scent thereof will always see me through. We spent days at the Ocean and walked along the Sand where Shells came in with the Tide. Your poetry is written in the Sand where memories are embedded in our Heart. The golden Sunset fades on the Horizon with mellow memories. tenderly, Pat
