Stolen

Stolen

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

Lyrical

"
my love he brings me strawberries
fresh from summer’s garden
reddened ripe by sunlight
rinsed by cleansing rain
and in his loving giving
through all our days of living
i question why another
still bleeds within my veins

Incredibly relatable and visceral in its emotional message. Love does that to us. We can do nothing but be swept by its tide and hope that its force of nature eventually ripples to a calm tranquility. Because in the end we are left with its haunting memory. The good, the bad, the terrible, and the beautiful.

Chris this short poem brings so many buried thoughts. The metaphor beyond the litteral meaning is profoundly deep. Such haunting thoughts of pleasure, love, guilt, questioning of our own feelings. A very deep piece.

Lovely. Memories of past loves live on through no fault of our present love. Not hypocrisy. Not insincerity. Love's memory lingers.

Do we ever truly get over first loves? I think not as the intensity of the feelings is too strong. Nice, Chris

You are blessed dear Chris to have someone who bleeds within your veins. Love can make us truly love, otherwise, what are we rather than a bunch of walkingdeads?
May there be "Strawberry Fields Forever", as John Lennon wanted.

Wow! Human emotions can be somewhat disturbing when another still latches onto the heart. It's like knowing the key to end it all is within reach, but something inside interferes with picking it up. Mixed emotions can be a ball and chain.

I hope he remembered the cream Chris, as well as the champers to wash it down with 😊
And I wouldn't worry about the almost other. They didn't quite make the cut and were doomed for not doing so to be an occasional "what if" of the mind. Or in my case, one of a cast of hundreds 😊
