From Seed

From Seed

A Poem by Chris Shaw

i plant memories
since no amount of
trinkets or financial gain
when departing this
earthly plane
can replace the love
given freely from
heart and soul

i plant memories
i do so by the day
and last Saturday was one
of the very best
blessed by warmth of sun
green trees overhanging
blue lakes
my whole family took
a day out

nothing to shout about
though what a day that turned
out to be
one for the album of joyful
to be mounted in the corridors
of generational memory

i plant happy

I’m just a seed planter , put on the earth , to bear children , and when I die , my seed will go with me
On a happier note , lol, we are a world of seeds , the beauty of nature described here , in your well written poem , our joy is seeds working for us , to establish beauty , of nature , shame the seeds establish also the ugliness of man

And we should all join in on doing that a bit more. We should take the moments life gives us while we are togeyher, to enjoy being together and not worrying about the small stuff that comes our way, which will lose its importance, once there are no more days like these to enjoy.
Beautifully written Chris. Now go plant more happy 😊

Memory allows us for a moment to be gods capable of resurrecting briefly the dead. I like your poem. Made me ponder.

Many thanks Dale. I appreciate you. Hope you are keeping well.

Memory is like smoke. Smoke hardly shows up without a fire. We light fires through our actions. Could be constructive flames to cook food for a hungry soul (e.g acts of kindness) or destructive infernos that destroy or scar others for life. One thing about memories being a seed is that whatever you sow is what you reap. If you keep reaping mangoes, stop complaining about your harvest, Maybe you need to change the kind of seed you plant. Thanks for planting little seeds of kindness into my attempt to be a better writer by your reviews. 😊
