Loving Light

Loving Light

A Poem by Chris Shaw

it’s the light that lifts our mind set
when the heart is sunk at sea
when you sit there by the harbour
in your home grown misery
when you dwell on all that’s heavy
when the future paint is grey
and the palette shows insipid
on the doldrums of the day
it’s the gleam upon the water
it’s the sparkle in an eye
it’s the flash of silver lining
that keeps spirits high

You are most welcome dearest friend 🌷
Yes, Chris, yes. This is how end rhyme is supposed to be used, and you have composed a delightful little melody to which we all can sing.

It's the difference spring can make in your step against bitterest winter, wrapped up against the elements, compared to loosening the layers in the spring sunshine.
I was out at the grounds behind the hospital today and just seeing the sun split the sky, with a gentle breeze, instead of a wind that tries to split you in two, certainly lifted my spirits.
Hope it shone for you too Chris.

You are so right Chris - all good things seek the Light, and when the days start to stretch out in Britain after our dark cold Winters, the Spirits lift and soar. Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

That was wonderfully melodic and beautifully expressed. I love the message and the meter of this piece. This flows so smoothly, I didn't want it to stop. I feel like singing now. : )

Such words of encouragement Chris. Nice in its meter as well as its metaphors. This gave a sense of brightness to the day. Thanks for sharing.
