Lift Off

Lift Off

A Poem by Chris Shaw

when moody waters wrestle
with darkest swirling thoughts
and whirlpools deep inside your mind
are dreams you never caught
take heed and lift your head up
to gaze where stars are found
and stay there till it’s safe again
to land on kinder ground

Chris this is a wonderful inspiring poem. It offers hope. A message so profound and universal as we all need this at times ‘take heed and lift your head up to gaze where stars are found’ beautifully said. A great title too. Lift Off indeed. This is a gorgeous poem. Going into my favorites. Utterly beautiful.

Yes indeed. Otherwise you'll be left wondering why you're stuck in the mud spluttering and choking on it, when all you had to do was turn your head to the stars to escape.
I'd be doing it right now, but our launch was topped with five seconds to go when thick cloud made us forget where to point to. 😊
Still a lovely day though. Un-sun and spring like

A dubble it is. You’re wurf it :)
Firstly, this was such a delightfully rhyming poem to read! I loved it. Then there was the wonderful imagery of the moody waters, the dark, swirling thoughts and the whirlpools deep! They make such a stunning impact on this reader. The message too was equally beautiful. To look upwards and away from what threatens to pull us down or drown us. To make a conscious effort to rise above our negative, down in the doldrums thoughts and to touch the stars. A brief poem with a lasting message!

To me, this poem reflects the importance of giving space to yourself and your thoughts, to enable yourself to come at peace with them. Only then, is one able, to truly understand one's inner turmoils and find a way to some resolution. Loved it, every bit!

made me think of the Moody Blues and their song "It's Up to You"!

Yes, there are we can't catch...but others are there if we lift our heads and keep our spirits

at lift off.

Aha! An escape artist! In an ugly, dark, and evil world, every glimpse of something outside the chaos is an ecstasy where stars are found... I'm just afraid there is no kinder ground than the one we are standing on.
