(found in some old notes, a reflection on bereavement)

Hi Chris,
This is right up my street.
At first it appears just a simple verse, but for me, there is so much more inside.
Grief is indeed a debilitating emotion. Sometimes it makes you smile, sometimes it makes you cry, but mostly, it hurts like nothing on earth.

This is very insightful wisdom. Not what I expected by the title:)
I am new to the art of writing poetry but in school we wrote haiku and this was similar but I didn’t count 5/7/5. Is this a different type of poetry or the free verse?

I really like the first verse/line here, "grief blots our sunlight."
Its very relatable and heart-wrenching. The way you have incorporated grief and its effects into everyday things is commendable. Love your writing style
