Been there, done that. What a great Haiku very identifiable and tangible. At the same time it is psychological and metaphorical in that so many times choices in life are not clear or apparent and we sit without knowing how to act, frozen in inaction. Great write

Hi Keith, pleased you stopped by. Many thanks and all the best.
Some nights, hard to write dear Chris. I put on "The picture of Dorian Gray'' on YouTube book.. His quotes in the tale. Awake me with the sad jazz. Nice use of words and good morning from Michigan.

I like to think of u still writing with a Pen Chris it suits your Image - or is it all part of the same metaphor for when the Words won't arrive ? Either way this nice 5-7-5 resonates with magic - Excellent ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

A Senryu indeed and yep that ghost of satire and humanity is very much there. I sense the poet staring up and staring in...dreaming, wondering, thinking, maybe a growl or two with tea, and then this casts its way in with the patter of rain or sunlight at the dawn, as she settles out the window and into the day and probably is already into the next Haiku. Myself, I have never been one for the forms but I do appreciate and make myself aware of them ...like a kitten with a new collar on me, and yet both Rumi and Lao Tzu are right here beside me every night and every morning along with more books than blankets. You'd think I'd buy more than a pen light by now as I read them mostly through the night. This one's smooth, and very, very filling as Seynru goes...amazing art really.

I also have far more poetry books than blankets. Thank you for your visit my friend. I hope the day treats you well.
Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
