Says The Muse

Says The Muse

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(erratic she is )

"
i’m with you
through the seasons
and all that they draw in
from the promise of a brand new year
to a snowdrop show in spring
through the blazing heat of summer burn
to the turn that comes with fall
with every golden leaf that drifts
or is whipped by a hostile squall

I’m with you
when the cracks appear
and the ice is far too thin
when the doubts of winter linger
as those shadows settle in
for that’s when strength is needed
i love you to your core
when your setbacks scar each working day
it’s then I love you more

I’m with you
when I’m idle
and my words are somewhat lean
it’s then I feel a certain guilt
when my conscience says I’m mean
but know i’ll not desert you
it’s just a short reprieve
and though my absence may be felt
in truth I’ll never leave

Even when I sit in front of my keyboard, fingers stretched out and floating above the keys not having any idea where to tap and what will come from it when I do, will you still be there then?????
This was fun Chris and I honestly believe that your muse is never very far away from you at all.

Well cut my nuts off and call me Rita, but this is the third write in a row full of the optimism of spring, with winters demise all ready for the intimations page.
Well of course in Scotland it's a different story and another beast from the east due any minute, with headlines screaming of armageddon again, but I care not for I am feeling the infectious optimism and I've survived worse, so I can leave it a little bit longer before I get the factor 50 out and put my long Johns back in the winter wardrobe.
I'm so glad the muse has properly apologised to you for her seasonal brusque Ness and look forward to her grovelling apology to me momentarily 😊
Erratic is you in polite mode, isn't it? I'd tell you what I'd say, but with Alexa and Siri's restraining orders against me, I can't afford a third strike 😊
