times change
technology increases her
strides forward into new
territories new ways
children have complex toys
often hitting the pocket
on the latest wish list
for little girls or boys
how refreshing to see
that some of the older joys
still exist in a past
favourite of mine
bubbles galore
lots of them in all sizes
floating in a room
chased by a child
short dark hair
brown eyed stare
wide with wonder
so much fun
running around
laughing out aloud
as fragile wobbles
touch the ground
excited
little breaths work best
blown through a
plastic white wand
now sing along
to that well known song
i’m forever blowing bubbles
pretty bubbles in the air
This was fun Chris. I have seen this with my own eyes recently where a couple of video game playing 9 and 10 year old boys went crazy once the bubbles starting floating. It was so nice to see that some things never change. Beautifully expressed my friend.

Lovely stuff Chris and I am reminded of when my own Lad was a care-free 5 year old with a winning smile. Now 6ft 3in tall and works for the Government !
Excellent Work again ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

The feelings running through this poem are so tender and beautiful, dear Chris....What is more beautiful than a beloved child chasing a spray of bubbles, in all their fleeting glory...? Indeed, no toy, however enthralling can ever replace them. I have a very special love for them as my autistic daughter as a toddler adored them and just couldn't sleep without a dozen bottles beside her. She is almost 18 now and yet I know she'd still play with bubbles in a heartbeat!
Thank you for the mention, dear friend. May the chain of inspiration never break. You are loved and appreciated so much! May your joys overflow and may you have a wonderful day.

You too, dear Chris! All beautiful things wished for you too. ❤
I remember blowing bubbles as a kid. It was indeed fun to watch the delicate things float gently down to the ground, where they'd pop. I think kids today would enjoy it, too, if they could be convinced to put their phones down for a while.

I noticed your review and thought I'd return the favor. Glad I did. Indeed, bubbles endure - like the closing of an unbroken circle that a grandfather sees clearly - Cheers, Chris.
Tennyson at such an early stage of life; well, why not! The fire of your imagine was lit forever, and a fine one it is. Thanks for your kind words & Best Wishes for 2023 (22?) - Just kidding about the year confusion - NOT!

Now that was a gift that’s endured. I also appreciate your best wishes for the year. Don’t they just slip away too quickly as we age ? All the best Paris Hlad.
A favorite for a youngster for sure. And a favorite when I became a mother myself, watching the wide-eyed joy of my son giggle in delight. He is grown now. I wonder if the affect would be the same should I bring out the bubbles again? Made me smile. Thanks for the early morning joy of forgotten things.

I like the childlike feel to reading this poem; and of course it fits what it's about. Wonderfully penned.
What poem of DIVYA's inspired this?

I adore them, along the balloons, I still buy balloons with no reason and blow them when I want, I have a red and green one at the moment lol I also still play with the bubbles toy when there is a one, when I was young we used to make it ourselves from empty plastic bottle, soap and water... beautiful beautiful days... thank You so much for sharing and reminding us with that dear Chris, sweet and adorable... I say too, Forever Magical Bubbles!!!!

Bubbles, balloons and a saucepan and spoon would keep kids amused for hours. And paper boats and dolls. It is nice to know some of these still give much happiness. Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
