Reaper of Rewards

Reaper of Rewards

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

A spontaneous write

"
i taught my boys how to hug
told them they can be given
freely

said they feel snug
like a bug in a comfort cocoon
make the giver and receiver
feel wanted and loved

my eldest arrived last night
stood dwarfing me in the hall
arms wrapped tightly round my waist
in the warmest embrace

a minute passed by in silence
as his son stood waiting his turn
all three years of him looking on
as his brown eyes burned delight

you know it’s true about rewards
you reap in abundance what you sow
and more so it grows with the years

Indeed, you got more than double the blessings you sowed!
This is such a brilliant poem in its thought and expression! It touches upon so much about life.
Life is what you make of it. Someone said that and hit the nail on the head.
Kudos to you dear Chris!

Gee
I'm a massive "hugger" believing in showing my love for folks in this way and it makes me feel good too.
No truer words than " you reap what you sow" my daughter being a most warm and beautiful person.
Reading this a good way for me to start Sunday:))
Good morning Christine, roll on Spring

Amen. The lessons we teach in life garner rewards in the future. So plant strong roots in kindness for the fruit they bear are ripe with love and care. Such a beautiful piece Chris.
