Generous, wonderful and amazing poetry dear Chris.
"green floral
with a hint of narcissus
and a touch of english rose
I suppose she is saying
something as old as
the Malvern Hills"
I loved the above lines. The smell of a easy perfume, we cannot forget, if allowed to enjoy. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry.

"i will return

This part of our poem suddenly shocked me and brought memories of my passed uncle who used to wear French perfumes.
Again, a good write Chris.

Thank you Nima. Interesting to see how you related. You are most welcome.
Cor blimey missus .. my most favouwrite scent of all time .. I have even scribbled about it, possibly posted even here .. I daren't disclose the effect it has on my person & nose though ... I quite like patchouli too, but that's another story .. thank you so much for posting such an exquisite poem that would most assuredly tease anyone's olfactory nerves who had previously come across it ..... N :)

We like patchouli too and it often wafts through the rooms of our home. Pleased you like the poem as well. That is high praise, an exquisite. Not sure I've had one of them before. You got me blushing :)
This poem contains the sweet perfume of nostalgia, Chris, with a puff of philosophy in the scent spray.
I guess many promises are to be found in bottles, one way or t' other. Not that I wear 'Je Reviens myself, you understand.
Well done Chris.
(I don't do 'love' poems either - well...)
Kind regards, Alan

Yes, the scent of love can often bring us back to it...and that one person who wore it so well with us.

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
