Glorious

Glorious

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(written after last night's amazing sunset)

"
it's not often that days
come gift wrapped with
ribbons of gold

that's why today will be
memorable and the sun
thought so too

as that magnificent orb
of molten fire appeared
magnified ten fold

in the evening sky
smiling at me before
that last blissful kiss

slipping out of sight
reluctantly with a promise
of more heat on the morrow

dearest Chris… yesterday was Hot and Humid… Today at Six AM.. it is Overcast; however, our tall bright Red Rise Crepe Myrtle Tree has grown very High and can be seen from our Master bedroom through our Large Window and appears like a stained glass window in a Cathedral. A Poets Paradise. 💗 love and best wishes, Pat

Thank you for letting us share the sunset with you. You described it so well it made me feel as if I was there with you sharing the glory of that beautiful orb. The sun has been relentless here with temps over 100 degrees for numerous days. A cool front is coming that will give us about 5 days of 84 - 97 degree weather. Looking forward to that! Very nice read for me Ms. Chris. Thank you! Temp

Love the first Verse “gifted with Ribbons of Gold”… although I am becoming Old… I still wear Ribbons in my Hair… while enjoying the Sea Air..

We seem to be inspired by spectacular sunsets, and your poem describes one beautifully! Perhaps a perilously thin silver lining to be found in the effects of global climate disaster?
