who do I weep for
those feelings run deep
yet when my eyes open
my thought trails are misted
all memory is buried
to secrets in sleep
so who do I cry for
though do not recall
vague faces and places
that aren't of my knowing
they aren't of my lifetime
so why are they showing
at nightfall they visit
the ghosts filter by
not ready for discourse
to tell how they died
so what does it mean
what secrets are pending
at night in my dreams
Being an Empath is never easy. Many times You would feel huge pain or strange emotions that You can't even express, many times You would be crying without even knowing why, many times You would be drained and consumed. few things can help through this, but sometimes nothing does by time. This one is very personal my dear, unusual write from You. it strikes me at my heart in a personal level. I hope peace and ease to settle in your heart and spirit 💕

Must be a lousy WiFi connection from this marina where we are boating. As an empath I experience the full gambit of highs and lows and everything inbetween. It's always been that way. 🌹Thank you for your lovely review.
There is more to Heaven and Earth than we can ever Imagine… Is something to be considered. Gently, Pat

Oh, I identify with this one, Chris. I have the strangest dreams about places and people I do not remember in my daily life. Why do they visit us at night? Have we lived before? Questions that I think we will never be able to accurately answer. I enjoyed the form you used here. Great work. Lydi**

The big question! We'll never know as the secrets are buried deep in your dreams... And I'm sure very frustrating to you. as you waken these memories are fuzzy, and as you dream they become clear, but haunting; most of us do not remember our dreams. This is a bit scary.
I like the structure of this poem, Chris... it leaves you with a strange feeling, but one we all experience at some time. Those feeling are sad ones, as they make you cry....and yet difficult to say why???
Best, B

You obviously feel deeply about many things, and are visited in your dreams by entities that draw strong emotions from you, communicating on a plane that is not quite accessible upon waking. Your poem expresses this very well.
I have, on a few occasions, come awake crying wretchedly, with only a vague impression of heart-breaking sorrow in my dreams.

Pleased to hear I am not the only one who wakes up crying, not being able to remember much. There's much we can't explain. There's much to discover.
Another fine poem, Chris. I like the use of rhyme in this, spread wider so it acts like a distant echo rather than the clang of the alarm clock next to your ear.

Amazing what visits us at night, Chris. I'm sure we all write a poem or more to help us with emotion. Thanks, Chris.

I can relate to this
I wake up feel I’ve travelled in my dreams to a reality of people I knew well then rack my brain my mind won’t let me recall
There’s just some things that can’t be revealed to us just yet

I really, really enjoyed this read of yours dear Chris... Seems somewhat different from your other poems...Such interesting thoughts..
I am moved by your words because I so relate to them.
I always wish I could write down my dreams, but that never happens... My father always did and I have loads of journals he kept of those amazing dreams..
Sometimes, throughout the day something will happen and I am reminded of my dream...My mother called it "breaking a dream"
I feel the emotion in your words and as I said because of this I am MOVED..
Many of my friends have "shield' around them so they do not experience things the way I do. Oh gosh, am I making any sense?
I feel joy and extreme happiness and also cry at the "drop of a bucket"
Alway, have been that way...but that is okay..I would rather feel life, then not..

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
