To me, this is a render love poem, using the spider's web as as a shroud of soft protection and care. It's warm, like a coverlet,. "this is my soul's food" his love for you...these are are moments we all want..."under the kiss of nightlight"....real or imagined, this is poetry at its best. Love this one!
Best, B

You are indeed a poet. Magical words tied into magical lines. Spellbinding. Warm. Loving. Enchanting. Please could you tie these for me?

Let's hope he isn't caught in a web of deceit. Spiders are tricky customers since some of them eat their mates. I was confused at first by the changing role of the narrator in the verse. At first, the woman seems the spider, "my left hand spiders his heart". And then, she becomes the fly, "I am caught in these moments, a fly, free to fly on my own volition." However it often happens in life and nature that the "would be predator" becomes the prey and the tables are turned. This was an interesting write. Kudos on making the reader think. F.

I loved the part where the 'soul's food sieves the night time darkness!' And why would anyone not want to be caught in those moments. Thanks for sharing this freedom, Chris. Cheers. Frederick.
Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
