OMG! just saw your poem, i've just finished writing one about snowdrops. you're very good on metaphors.
i don't think they grow here naturally, only in pots, probably much better where it's a bit cooler like in tasmania.
will publish mine in a day or two when I get the images just how I want them to be.

This touched me deeply, touched my grief, so much feeling expressed with humbling brevity. An aside... birch trees have always reminded me of ghosts and I have always loved them.

If you too are grieving, I hope time will soften what you are currently feeling. I have loved birch trees for a very long time. One outside my bedroom stands like a sentinel, on guard throughout the seasons. So pleased you paid me a visit.

Snowdops come to touch your face when the one you miss... cannot. Yet, maybe not physically, but they still touch your heart.
An amazing and lovely write.

Thank you Melinda for your thoughtful review. You are appreciated.
Such a delicate write the flow so gentle and somewhat sad with the passing of a season loved so much it’s sad to say goodbye after enjoying its company and what’s on offer. I love silver birch trees they have an elegance of their own.

This poem felt quiet. Especially after reading the last two. Had that Japanese feel without the form. We could call it Shawku. Happy Spring Chris!

I felt your beautiful, mystical, evocative poem so deeply dear Chris. Wonderful imagery, flow, alliteration. When we are rapt in Nature, the spirits come... I feel them too.

I have no enough words to describe how Your poem is something far beyond than a "poem". few are able to touch something deep and special inside me, You do at times and here here not only You touched it, but also You let it flows and grows our Masterpoetess Chris... I wish I can give You 100 for another 100 times. the gentleness, the kindness, the oneness, the connection to ones' inner and the whole all is there in these heavenly powerful ethereal words...

Snowdrops the first signs of new life sprouting as you say from noting in the baren ground
OUr beech tree limbs are high above the ground
Aye they are a tangled mass
The Weeping Japanese Maple Tree
Its bare limbs spread over the Snowdrop clump
Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
