Illuminated

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(spontaneous write)

"
enhanced the beaded droplet dew
at dawn the branches creaked in pain
but noon day sun has cast a spell
each gemstone gleams with lustrous light
this birch tree leaves the rest in shade

"at dawn the branches creaked in pain" this line really make us feel the sore..... your poem is written beautifully and reaches us with its brilliance and wisdom in a gentle way. if we wait with patience until the right time, we will shine brightly.

You are welcome!
I read the word 'dew' as a verb in this. The power of dew to cause the branches to creak in pain. The droplet knew not the power it has to cast a spell in its light and ease the Birch's affliction and find rest. Fun to try and figure on it!

I registered my profile on this site mainly because I read your poetry and realized how much it resonates, in a way, with the type of material I write. Of course I will take the opportunity to post my poetry, but I would like to tell you that I was very happy to find material similar to mine among your texts. Congratulations, because I know how difficult it is to erect certain phrasal buildings that manage to distill the incredible range of feelings and the infinite need for expression that we have.

the birch tree as protector...like the tree ents in Lord of the Rings.
"branches creaked in pain"
and they howl...I can hear it in storms.
gemstones can cast a lustrous light, or a harsh one, depending on how we use them.

The morning light on shining few. The way everything shimmers. So often I woke up to this on the road! And almost, I could believe the campground had become a fairyland. I love the images here. Like a photograph in the mind. Wonderful!
