enhanced the beaded droplet dew
at dawn the branches creaked in pain
but noon day sun has cast a spell
each gemstone gleams with lustrous light
this birch tree leaves the rest in shade

"at dawn the branches creaked in pain" this line really make us feel the sore..... your poem is written beautifully and reaches us with its brilliance and wisdom in a gentle way. if we wait with patience until the right time, we will shine brightly.

Aha! Very clever, a tree "throwing shade" at the others. I love poems about nature, and yours are always a treat.

Huh... I was going to try coming up with something similar, set in a forest area in the morning... Ended up writing 200+ words, but I still failed to reproduce the feeling of this one.

Wonderful write!

This iambic tetrameter quatrain reminds me of Elizabeth Bishop, a high bar over which to leap.

Inspirations come spontaneously as what happened to our wonderful poetess, making us react in many ways to the beauty of it all; in this case, sunlight reflecting sparkled gems on many things. Wow!

Ha! Thank you Neville. Spontaneous meets spontaneous :)
Such beauty from nature's cycle. There are majestic rainforests with similar processes and a favourite sight is the dappling of sunlight through the canopy. Taking it all in and transforming into poetry brings us full circle. Our lives may be faster, even more mobile and more varied. But broken down to its most rudimentary elements we can appreciate the parallels that nature affords. Thanks for sharing, Chris. This was enjoyed immensely. Frederick.
