'...when the last of birch leaves
flutter down
in a flurry resembling rain' -
You portray the emotions with this above line in such a vivid way, that I got completely carried away..
What a powerful imagery, dear Chris..
Sometimes, life brings some painful turns but with "song of best belief", this too shall pass, probably.

Sweet words to wish a safe return when Birch leaves
are falling again when the Rain gives Earth a peaceful Refrain...
until we meet again... tenderly, Pat

I need to write some new ones, but have well over five hundred in my catalogue here. Thank you for your thoughts and a special thank you for reading this one again. That is so much appreciated. I am so busy at the moment, but pleased to say it is a sunny day here. We do need rain too, but not too often. Have a great day.
Your poems are always easy to understand and touching, Chris. There's lots of emotion and sentiment in this one. Covid pulled many people apart, for some it changed the course of their future.
Great writing, Chris.

Falling leaves resemble a rain of sorrow and longing sometimes. Such beautiful lines for a loved one. This poem is so relevant in these sad covid times. Always so sad when life creates these distances and barriers and the heart asks over and over, when will we see them again. Yet we must keep the faith. This is such a gem of a poem, dear Chris.
