Temporal

Temporal

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(lyrics, muse is singing )

"
so what use is anger
inflicting self pain
let it drift from
lost remnants
there's nothing to gain

let it sail on the high seas
let it fly in blue sky
for life is for living
there's no time
to cry

veiled mists have now lifted
those ghosts have now gone
once haunted it's over
oh yes it's all over
along with your song

what remains is a memory
a flower's last bloom
pink petals have faded
there's no sense
of gloom

I love that staza. we can't dwell on disapointments and tragedy for life goes on and we must live it before our time is up. I could hear these lyrics being dung to a very hauning tune.

i did think that too.
I loved your last stanza most of all. For some reason, the "pink petals" part really gets to me. "Pink" seems so innocent. It reminds me how, at our core, all of us are vulnerable like children. Being adults doesn't take away our sensitivity to what life throws at us. Similarly, it doesn't take away our attraction to things that are eye-catching, like pink flowers. At the very least, we have the memory of sweet times and sweet people even if we're forced to undergo the anger, emptiness, and sorrow when they are gone. My heart breaks for those afflicted with memory-related diseases; I would rather feel the pain of not having what I once had rather than not knowing I had something or someone special at all. Thank you for sharing.

The lines that capture the reader well, including me... no need to dwell on what you can't change that bruised and scarred us so, for all we can do is move on for the better or better ourselves. Life is not worth regretting when we live on the earth for only so long till our time is up.

Oh, you're so welcome!
Chris - not only in this, but also in your last couple of writes, you seem to be really down. I hope this is not the case. I know that I haven't been here lately but I hope and pray that it is not the situation. I wish for your well-being.
Take care - Dave

And you too Dave.
Moving on it's not easy for anyone. We need time for healing even if we went through hell and we feel like we are strangers and everything doesn't seem the same because something changed for us. Never let yourself drown in pain because you will lose every chance to hope again for finding a better person. I did that, and now I am healing by myself, and all I can tell it's that this is very hard. When you feel like you can't fight by yourself you will find that one person who will take away all your pain. Thank you for sharing with us this poem.

I write better about what angered or upset me 40 years ago than I do about my emotions today. I’m not saying this because of the time it took to cook and develop thoughts of revenge but rather the clarity of thought from a renewed perspective. Time is our friend, in my experience.

Life is too short to cry, that is true. I often sing what I write too, at least in the beginning to get the poetry started when I'm in a writers block. Anger helps when I weight left but that's about all it's good for. Nice write. Tyfs
