let it sail on the high seas
let it fly in blue sky
for life is for living
there's no time
to cry
I love that staza. we can't dwell on disapointments and tragedy for life goes on and we must live it before our time is up. I could hear these lyrics being dung to a very hauning tune.

This has great flow, good lines and sentiments. Letting go of negativity is difficult for some, it’s a waste of energy that could be used to move forward. Nice message in this one
Hi Chris, what good is anger, it is a waste of one's energy. We must move on from all disappointments and find some peace. I love the content of this write. Your thoughts are so gently flowing down the page in wonderful lines, your words painting such realistic visions. You paint a canvas with poetic grace. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Hugs always....Mike.
The opening stanza really spoke to me in this wonderfully written poem, Chris. As fallible as human beings are we do tend to cling hard to our rage. Especially in those little things that are not important to hold onto. It's their accumulation that darkens the heart and stifles our progress to be better people. To let go of that pettiness of anger is an empowerment of the soul one will find liberation in. And the purity of enlightenment. Thank you for your beautiful art.

Life is for living. Though I do look back at times, I try hard to live in the present, accept what I can't change and make the most of the life given me.
Well said Chris.
(Forgot to ask how your day went today.)

Anger sometimes has it place, but yes, it's a tough one to shed.
I like your notion of setting it adrift. I enjoy your lines that spark my thoughts.

Haha, I'm so full of Claptrap tonite!
Such meaningful words in this poem. Anger is poison for the soul and blinds our rational thinking, creating chaos for oneself and those around us. Anger is unsustainable-it appears like a black, powerful cloud in the sky but when you go through it- is nothing but water drops floating-nothing solid. In your words- " so what use is anger
inflicting self pain
let it drift from
lost remnants
there's nothing to gain" .Absolutely! Thank you Chris for sharing beautiful poetry!

simple but so, so powerful. is it ever really the end of the world ? life goes on… whether it be consumed by pain and tragedy is ultimately our decision. Your poems have a very realistic feel to them, bringing forth real life issues… I love them all. Thank you for another beautiful shared piece

Thank you so much lovelymarina for stopping by to review. Much appreciated.
the simplicity here belies a more serious benignant. There is a festival somewhere, over there, where poor people use to sue for some sort of traversable joy if they could just get there. Be rich. Be more slender. Have nicer hair or a bigger car. "life is too short", (the expression, not the reality) has an iron yoke when fastened to our circumstances. But poetry is about how we dream the world could be not how it should be. But your last stanza is the expressive resolve that most poetic combatants wish for: the ever forgiving, always resolving entrance into jubilee. What Dickinson called it "The letting go". You're magnificent here. dana

Dana, great to see you stop by. Thanks for that awesome review. Best always.
Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
