What a great image blended with such poetic words.
"as though a surgeon's knife
sliced through sky's heart
rip roaring red no sutures
as crimson clots appear"
Then the whole next stanza
"they spread it bleeds
it plasters heaven's highway
reflected in evening's dark
salty waters
skyscape slaughter"
Great lines Chris

I love your imagery, especially the ending, horizons black ribbon line. I also enjoyed the metaphor, the surgeon’s knife. You manage to take things we see all the time, and transform it to art with your poetry. Love all your poems!

There are some in the countryside i drive through on the way to my old home town, i quite like them , don't know if i would were there lots and lots but scattered about i don't mind them at all,.
Better them than the old smog and coal waste heaps we used to have scarring everything.

I am all for clean energy. We have some near us and I am fascinated by them, capturing the movement of wind. An older poem, out for an airing. Have a pleasant bank holiday.
I admire them too; we need renewable energy, clean energy. I have seem miles and miles of them on my travels especially in Kansas; amazing scenes for miles on end. Something magical about the old wind farms and the modern ones.
On a side note, I wish those wealthy industrialists had financed Nicolas Tesla's wireless electricity project. We could have been all in better shape. They did not think they can make money off of wireless; what a pity.
You are fascinating and amazing in all you do Chris.

I always thought they would be a soothing sound but then again I have never been right up next to them. I know people complain they are an eye sore but I rather like them not as much as I admire those in Holland as I have several delft blue pieces from there but I like the windmills. Lovely piece Chris;) still working slowly through your archives

Hi Chris, I can't remember if there are any wind farms in the Forth as yet. It has been a few years since I have been near the Forth. I know there was a couple of rigs there, eye soars they were. Who knows if they are gone. I love the content of this piece. You paint a wonderful image with your soft words. Your song sings with meaning. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs always....Mike.

You are welcome Chris. Have a wonderful Saturday. Hugs always....Mike.
No wind farms on the Severn Estuary as yet Chris, albeit they are highly praiseworthy - I guess there is still too much sea-traffic heading up to the vast Docks at Avonmouth and Portbury - of a Summer's evening, one can see the huge array of new cars gleaming in the low sun at the Portbury Docks where they have recently been offloaded, most of them from Japan I am surmising. I like this piece, and again it has a very visual, painterly feel to it.

Thank you Katzie for stopping by. You are appreciated.
Wind farms and poetry, Who'da thunkit?
You not only pulled it off, you made it entrancing.
I'd have titled it Skyscape Slaughter,
a devilishly Inspired line!

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
