Echoes Of Lavender

Echoes Of Lavender

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(a revamped poem)

"
mist rises as newly birthed disc
of sun kisses easterly horizon's cheek
promising heightened heat on a
sultry summer day

clouds like chariots fly past at rapid
speed in a part blue sapphire sky
hurtling on a journey to certain
dissipation

we walk waist high through scented
spikes of  fragrant purple lavender
alive with a charm of worker bees
buzzing busily at the seams

he asks me if this is a touch of heaven
I don't know I replied though when I
die if it echoes what we share here
then maybe dreams become reality

dear Chris... another Summer is fading into Autumn... and still your poem has touched my heart... our Crepe Myrtle is in full bloom and the colours stir our emotions. A kiss of Hibiscus will be a way to survive until God gives us Spring. Winter has its Beauty with silhouettes of bygone days. Another Year to Pray... Amen.. Pat

Mmmm I like this - reminding me of some of the gardens at Oxford in the distant Summers of the Late 70s - 'History is now and England'.

Setting a most colorful, gorgeous scene for a a few words of love between the two describing how this feels to them HEAVEN...the last lines are so touching...and a thoughtful ending.... I love the images, they just pop out at us; well done Chris!!!
PS, your poetry is so soft, you have a knack for these special words and setting a stunning scene.
Stay well, and enjoy summer!

Hello dear Chris. I will on the fifth of June. I hope you are doing well and staying safe.
Ms. Shaw I sure wish I knew how to paint because your descriptions are so divine with this scene I can see myself wandering thru these fields. I really love that last line...if it echoes what we share here then maybe dreams become reality. I wonder what he would have replied to this. Such a lovely poem lady, thank you for sharing.
