Kismet

Kismet

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(a little light romance)

"
when our lips met in breathless tender touch
as eyelids drew their blinds on bustling world
let memories of that moment's state of bliss
reside inside our minds for all of time
as butterflies chased moonbeams in night's dark
two hearts entwined like grapes grown on a vine
while stars saluted pathways edged in bright
those feet were floating six feet off the ground
the axis of the planet came adrift
all sense of time departed when we kissed

Something I can strongly relate to, yet I'm envious of anyone in this situation.

Great poem, Chris.

Thank you Dark.
Like grapes grown on a vine entwined...

If we are lucky we get to feel and embrace a love like this even if it’s only for a short bit.

What a lovely title to describe the passion and romance attached with first kiss! May be the earth is rotating on its own axis but to that moment the world rotates on their love axis.... What a lovely poem is this

oh my, Chris...do I remember this!
First girlfriend, knees buckling...
when our lips touched...
I think mine were 12 feet off the ground.

"eyelids drew their blinds on bustling world"

like the Vogues' song "Five O'clock World"----what a great line that is.
