Outings and Airings

Outings and Airings

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(Be kind to old poems)

"
old poems
dormant in archives
gather dust

choked in files
shallow breathing
they wait

with patience
praying for
resurrection

till once again
they resurface
into clean air

gasping
rubbing their eyes
with surprise

to find
black ink printed
on a page

for all to see
in the warm light
of a new day

Hi Christine
I loved this
Today coyote reviewed two of my old poems I forgot I had written
It’s nice to see them come to life again. Just be aired and see the light of day even for a few minutes
Like looking at a. Old photo album faded pages and shining eyes

I'm always amazed at how art wares off. They say what's old again becomes new again. I suppose your poem explains the secret. Hide and Seek. LOL Nice write. People are much the same. I think I'll go into hiding now...LOL Trevor

Okay, Chris, you shamed me into doing it. I'm going back and digging out all my poems and try to organize them into something coherent. I'm not sure how good I'll do, but I'll try. Thank you for the shove!
Take care - Dave

I went and I made copies of my 2000 poems and stories. Took my free time for a week to print and organize. I found poem I liked from 40 years ago.

resurrection"
The above lines I understand dear Chris. I am trying to get organized. I will try to publish a short story book and a poetry book this year. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

It is hard work dear Chris and hello from Michigan.
dearest Chris... older poems need the light of day.. they are like remnants of yesterday when life was cherished with touches of love. Fresh air is worth more than gold. It seems our days are filled with rain and sunshine like flowers waking up. Blueberries will soon have wee white lantern blooms to welcome sweet delicate blueberries. tenderly, Pat
