Me too dear Chris.

I have a old bible. I keep the keep-sakes I need. I do peek at. To remember the kind people I knew. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

I know you are from a very close family Chris and so your ties still hold strong even tho so many have passed on .
This poem is a beautiful way to express how much you miss them and a lovely tribute too ♥
The past can be either a source of pain or of comfort. Here the speaker describes her practice of saving mementoes of past loves within the pages of an old Bible, which she refers to in times of need. It's almost like rekindling a long dead fire to summon up those memories as a source of strength. Though all things do pass, it's good to occasionally revive the memories of them to make the passage a little less remorseless.

We keep those we have lost close in many ways, this speaks volumes to me dear Chris. What is it to truly live on many ask...I would say you live on by being remembered like this. Letting go and holding on is a tender balance...lovely poem :)

I think it's noble thing to re-exam memories of those you love. Sometimes, because we are so caught up in something, we forget those who have passed. So, it okay to find "stuff" that reminds you of a loved one. In fact it's a calming thing to do for our souls. Nice write chris.

Its these memories that define a lot of what we become...what a treasured place the Bible is, offering not just the Holy Word but also safekeeping our treasures and fond memories. The need to hold on to all that's precious and to keep feeling that love eternally is conveyed so completely here. I could relate so much as my Bible carries so much of me. When younger, I had this habit of scribbling prayers and supplications in my Bible in troubled, testing times and looking back, I see my evolution so clearly there. And yes, those little mementos pressed into the sacred pages, made by the tiny hands of my kids. They're my purest joy. Thanks for this wonderful poem, my beautiful poet friend ❤
