A Rose For All Seasons

A Rose For All Seasons

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(an anniversary offering)

"
this gift to you of perfumed love
confirms my heart is taken
although at times we disagree
does not mean i'm mistaken
it simply states that i am free
to voice my thoughts at leisure
and you my darling are the one
to suffer that forever

your poem puts a big smile on me face Christine! what a fine love you speak of ... and a pretty good relationship too! Norma and i were on the same pages politically and spiritually so on those we preached to the choir when talking about world happenings .. but on people .. she relied on her Italian "spider sense" and held those snap opinions as etched in stone where i took a long time to decide that someone may not be the greatest person in the world .. both qualities of strength and weakness ;) love your poem .. made me think of Norma

Spoken like a true woman! Lol. We both love and torture our menfolk, don't we? They just have to take the good with the bad and accept lovely perfumed gifts like your poem here. Hopefully your Mister read this and was touched and also got the hint! Lovely rhyme, Chris.🌹

Beautifully stated, dear Chris! With one graceful sweep of your quill, you express the love and affection in your heart and clear your stand too. We agree, disagree, voice our opinions, not for anything else but to grow in the relationship. Without the freedom to do so, it wouldn't be love after all. No suffering here, only joy! A poem that has such a spirit and glow!

yes so true, I think we can disagree with people with neither of us being right or wrong. We may simply see things differently. it's all about perspective. And being free around people and being able to say your thoughts and hear theirs is the best kind of love

Just because we don't agree all the time, doesn't mean that I'm mistaken; it simply means that I am free to express myself in my own ways; Seems that your darling will have to live with your freedom, which he may not like. But, that is how a relationship works; love isn't always cherry pie. Very Well done my dear Chris.
The best you you always, Betty
