A Rose For All Seasons

A Rose For All Seasons

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

(an anniversary offering)

"
this gift to you of perfumed love
confirms my heart is taken
although at times we disagree
does not mean i'm mistaken
it simply states that i am free
to voice my thoughts at leisure
and you my darling are the one
to suffer that forever

your poem puts a big smile on me face Christine! what a fine love you speak of ... and a pretty good relationship too! Norma and i were on the same pages politically and spiritually so on those we preached to the choir when talking about world happenings .. but on people .. she relied on her Italian "spider sense" and held those snap opinions as etched in stone where i took a long time to decide that someone may not be the greatest person in the world .. both qualities of strength and weakness ;) love your poem .. made me think of Norma

Hello, Christine! :)
You really hit the mark with that last line. Yes, make him suffer. He's earned it. Haha

Hi Christine, so happy to see you're doing alright during these troubling times. I love how cute this poem is. It's like cupid's arrow with crosshairs aimed right for the heart. A strong love is like a warm blanket, it keeps you comforted through thick n thin and sure when it's too hot sometimes you need your own skin but hey anyone who gets to be your blanket for life, in my book that's a win.

How sweet! An anniversary offering. There is so much love and passion behind these words, you can feel it with each rhyme and word. There's something magical and beautiful about the last line, maybe the way you fit in 'suffer'. It just feels so everlasting and it only gets better the more I reread it.

That feeling of being so comfortable comes with time and understanding and that allows for free speech. It’s nice to compliment each other. Nice write happy anniversary Chris.
