“from bleakest night comes brightest day
when rays of sun break through at dawn”
Beautifully penned lines dearest Chris. Your words float upon the day as a graceful prayer to Gaia, an extolling of her comfort to man, each morning renewed. Great message, imagery, metaphor, rhyme, cadence, alliteration… Master Class write my friend!

You invoke the sense of hope and happiness that we all look for. You tell us that though things may be bleak, there is a brighter, sunnier tomorrow coming. Down as we are now, we will be comforted.
Just what we all need now, Chris, the hope of better things to come.
Take care - Dave

Life is tough for many and the virus has certainly got a grip over here. I have to keep reminding myself that we have many blessings even though the days are dark. Spring is just round the corner and the vaccine roll out is going well. A fight against time. Sending you all good wishes.

I love that the loving thoughts in your poem extend to everyone else as much as to oneself. As we grow older & it gets harder to drag ourselves into a new day, people get self-absorbed in their misery. But looking beyond ourselves, seeing what challenges others face, is a sure way to cure whining! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

When misery and death abound, it is good to know that you aren't the only one. Many, many families all over the world are going through immense grief at the moment. The least I can do is try my best to write an uplifting poem, that someone else might relate to. Thank you always for your visits.
The natural world is self sustaining and healing, each new dawn is a new beginning , each new beginning has hope; just like a new page turned in your lovely uplifting poem Chris.

Yes, all is not doom and gloom .... the circle of life keeps turning :)
Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
