“from bleakest night comes brightest day
when rays of sun break through at dawn”
Beautifully penned lines dearest Chris. Your words float upon the day as a graceful prayer to Gaia, an extolling of her comfort to man, each morning renewed. Great message, imagery, metaphor, rhyme, cadence, alliteration… Master Class write my friend!

Wow! I loved this write and the way it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... It's a great poem with beautiful rhythm and cadence, wonderful use of metaphors and terrific rhyme schemes. I loved every line and sentiment. You proved that a love poem can be short, sweet and powerful. Well done, Chris. I can't wait to read more of your work... but right now, time to paint my house.

ohhhh....Many thanks indeed :-) My pleasure and you are most welcome Chris!!!
This is exactly the kind of poem I love and the title captured my attention right away! The description of day and night feels so fresh and what I often look for in poetry. The words are so healing and inspiring and I believe we could do with more poems like this.

The Greek Gods somehow make a poem more meaningful in my mind. Each dawn is an opportunity to have a good day...to change things that were not so good yesterday. As Annie sang, "tomorrow, tomorrow, I love ya tomorrow...." we have to believe things will improve with the new day. So filled with hope. Very uplifting. I liked it. Lydi**

Albert, my paternal grandfather introduced me to Tennyson when I was nine. I have loved poetry ever since but did not attempt writing a single piece until I was 40. It's never too late to try somethin.. more..
