a faltering flame
in a room filled with darkness
fights for love of light

What makes this especially intense for me is the title, as it relates to the content. Spirited people are often the ones who take darkness the hardest. Just look at all the artists & musicians that die young. You've captured the essence of haiku/senryu perfectly: (1) expression thru imagery & (2) saying a ton with very few words (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

just like a heart faltering,
fighting to find love
before it flickers out for good.
