Rises With The Sun

Rises With The Sun

A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

( Day 7 of lockdown)

"
sleep filled eyes wake to warmth of
rose pink glow from ceiling to walls
.
old sol is doing his best to create
enticing hues to welcome new day
.
views from an angled window on
third floor finds skyscape of wonder
.
beyond garden boundaries ripe
strawberry sorbet melds to lilac
.
subdued baby blues embrace
splashes of bold molten gold leaf
.
heart enchanted, gift of sight prized
contentment and blessings realised

Damn...that strawberry sorbet and lilac line made me hungry and this piece made me hungry for more than just food. What a wonderful moment, we have to snatch them out of the air when we can, enjoying the miracles that are given to us every day like sight and the ability to fall in love with a sunny Sunday morning.Yay..this was amazing.

Lovely to see you DIVYA and I hope you have a wonderful Diwali too. Peace and love my friend.:)
How enchanting the first rays of the sun, that hint of golden promise from beneath the chink of a blind tightly drawn shut! Your words paint it beautifully for me. But the best thing is the child-like wonder that I sense and a gratefulness for life each day! Always so wonderful to read you Ms. Chris....

lovely poetry. being a gardener I like looking at the birds come in for a bath in the garden hearing the blackbirds sing. My favourite time looking out windows is in winter when its raining funny enough. You and Pat have very similar imagery on display.

When doing stopped being done, some found wonder in their surroundings whilst looking for something to relieve the boredom, but some already knew it was there and used enforced imprisonment as an excuse to just watch and wait, reflect, ponder and peruse all manner of thoughts that wouldn’t have been thought of not for knowing the pleasures of our surroundings that get us in the right mood to start a day.
Let them return to their wall sized tv and celebrity X factor big brother island. I’ll just carry on watching the best show on earth, from my kitchen window.
As ever Chris, nail...head...bullseye 😂
