Water has memory , every raindrop ever felt reminds me of the people there are in my life , how lucky i am to have them , As u said each raindrop is a vault of treasured memories , with each moment , passes water diffuses into the air and falls as raindrops reminding us of the times that have passed , The fresh air , the earthen smell of the dirt becomes the atmosphere of that profound memory , Thanks for this chris , its a touching read

Yes, there is something about raindrops, falling heavily on rooftops, and gently streaming windows, that seems to transport one to past times and bittersweet memories ... warm, cozy grade-school classrooms after cold wet walks from home, the feeling of being safe, snugged in bed, with the rain pounding overhead, and times-past hauntingly recalled in patterns on window panes. ... As always, you've captured an experience Chris :)

The raw emotion spoke to me, as rain can remind us of all the tears we've shed and will shed in the future.
I enjoyed the alliteration of "purl, plain..." as the plosive sound perfectly reflects the sound of raindrops hitting the window. Overall, a very nice piece.

You have told a beautiful story about a sad event that obviously touched you deeply.
The atmosphere you created jumps out at the reader ... especially those who like rainy weather.
I can picture that cable-knit sweater being worked on with loving heart and hands.
Those lost loves are always at the back of the mind ... remembered when rain drops roll down a window pane on a cool afternoon.
Hope you're well Chris.

Your writing is so poignant, especially to the rest of us who have lost friends or relatives prematurely.
To be talking to a dearly loved colleague one day and the next morning getting a call telling you that he has passed away. I guess that getting older puts you in the category that says, "I guess it was to be expected.
Take care Chris, Dave

dearest Chris... an Autumn Prayer to wear like a Halo
where colors appear on Meadows and Fields... as we
dance through days of Sunshine and Rain... remembering the ones
who passed too Soon. A Reverence bestowed... we pause and
Bless their Memory. Tenderly, Pat

Wow. Great job. If you don't mind me asking...Is this about your brother?
The way you talk keeps my attention, and pushes me to read more.

This poem was not about my brother, but a young man who was my first boyfriend. He died aged 26. I still think about him on occasions.
Such a beautiful, intricate poem with amazing imagery. The rain makes the sadness even stronger and the feeling of missing someone here is intense. As hard as it is, sadness and grief has a sort of beauty to it you captured perfectly here.
