Trembles The Tree

A Poem by Chris Shaw

shivers in autumn
cascading gold smothers green
barely a blade seen

God made a quilt out of leaves...and it is keeping the grass warm.

Nice one Chris...I just went outside to search for a blade....but we have so many trees here that the grass is totally covered...and the quilt goes snap, crackle, pop as I walk through it.
relate to this one, big time.

The leaves fall in Autumn to be vigilant through the Winter and wake again as new buds with renewed energy... poetically speaking... Your haiku is penned with the splendor of cool
nights and sugar kisses stored in leaves 🍁 that produce the colors of red and gold and lavender.

Another winter is upon us and we brace ourselves for the snuffing out of all that greenery around us. We have little option but to find joy in winter's white and silver. How helpless we are Ms.Chris....season after season...

I can feel autumn's chill dear Chris. The relentless march of seasons. Smothering all things tender and verdant. Beautiful haiku!

A little snap shot of my garden yesterday morning. Thank you iliOZ.

You've seen my garden covered in a carpet of leaves of all colours then! Indeed the grass is barely growing and the shedding continues apace. Sweep one day, looks the same the next. Nice haiku capturing the colour.
