dancing dust motes
catch sunlight streaming
moving in time
to morning music
they boogie to
New Order
in their own lively
disorder
lifting spirits
revisiting magic
You wrote so brilliantly on such a basic rhythm of nature, the Brownian Motion.
This haphazard motion is so intrinsic to Nature and all its realms.
Order in disorder indeed, for without the disorder, there would be no evolution, no laws.
Distracted though it may seem, there is such purpose to it!
In such a simple way, you captured all the magic and beauty of creation.
This is just what I love about your poetry so much, dear Chris....

It was my father who had a degree in physics. Alas, not one of my strong points, although I wish it had been. Have a lovely day 🌺
Ha, at first I thought...I read a comment from you earlier today on Dave Brown's piece about the site going down and how much housework you managed to get done while not being distracted by poetry and I thought, that is what inspired this until I saw this poem was written two years ago. : )
I know what you mean about dust motes, I love seeing them wistfully float about in a sunbeam. Nice one my friend.

I did get much done in the house with wc going down for nearly two days:)) I love watching dust motes in sunlight. Thanks for checking this one out. Have a good day.
All summer, with my big thirsty garden in the big heat around here, I awoke with a list of stuff that needed doing every day. October was still hot & the outdoor puttering went ahead full steam. Then we just got 3 frosty mornings & most of my garden shut down - bang! Now I have nothing more to do until spring when life starts to hum again. I look at all these wilted plants & try to figure out what to do today, but I end up becoming distracted, staring at some crumpled leaf or withered sprout, just like in your poem (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
that is the most magical view i have ever been inspired to see ... of dust ..and it is so common and relatable .. i have lain there on my bed in more comfort i can overcome and get up .. just watching those little mystical faerie dustings floating in such chaotic uniformity .. thanks for sharing Cherrie .. a very uplifting mini scene in motion

For a couple of minutes those dancing dust motes doing a boogie to the music I was listening to, brought me magic. It tickled my sense of humour. Pleased if I managed to show it and not tell it :) Thank you Mr E, for your continued support of my scribbles and mind wanderings.

Something about this makes me think of a familiar place. Home. Watching dust settle in the sunlight through the windows bring s sense of peace and well being. Safe. Amazing work.

So beautiful to see, so beautiful to watch. Swirl a piece of paper or cloth among them and watch them soar even more. Christine - this is so very nice.

Dear Dave, pleased you enjoyed the read. Thank you my friend.
I have been listening to New Order by Joy Division a lot recently; it is a super fun and catchy tune. I love how observant and whimsical this piece is. It makes me happy and reminds us to appreciate the little quirks in life.

Your words are filled with the magical notes the universe plays all around us...a music that's constant and to which everything dances to a new order. Indeed uplifting the spirit, bringing vitality to our world. You notice such finer things around you and put so much thought in their beauty and significance, Ms. Chris.

Yes! I love to open the blinds on the east side of the house as the sun is rising and watch the dust motes dance in the rays! Makes me believe in magic again. The imagery in this one is right up my alley. Loved it, Chris. Lydi**
