Distracted

Distracted

A Poem by Chris Shaw

dancing dust motes
catch sunlight streaming
moving in time
to morning music
they boogie to
New Order
in their own lively
disorder
lifting spirits
revisiting magic

You wrote so brilliantly on such a basic rhythm of nature, the Brownian Motion.
This haphazard motion is so intrinsic to Nature and all its realms.
Order in disorder indeed, for without the disorder, there would be no evolution, no laws.

Distracted though it may seem, there is such purpose to it!

In such a simple way, you captured all the magic and beauty of creation.

This is just what I love about your poetry so much, dear Chris....

Many thanks Tony for your continued encouragement. Have a Good Friday.

What a nice piece redirecting my thoughts to something I see so frequently but seldom pay any attention to. Yes their order is not our order. No matter how much you dust and clean there are always more. Such a common place thing so nicely put into magic.

So pleased you enjoyed this little bit of sunlight and dust. Thank you Soren.
dearest Chris... in the early morning of February 3, 2023... I read your poetry. Let it Be... Let it Be.
The Sky is Stormy, but peaceful soft clouds are God's Promise... that there will be Peace in the Valley.

Haha, I may never dust again. Finding magic in (distracting) little pleasures is a fun pastime, and something I could spend a little more time on :) Thanks, Chris, a "spirit-lifting" read.

Love this. When we see beauty in everything it is great to get distracted by it.

Not seen this little gem before. And that is what it is. Strucure, meaning, subject all come together in such a way that makes me as the reader smile because it applies and that is the main thing.
Visual, descriotive and yet full of deceptive meaning. Love the bit about New Order.

Quentin Crisp once said that he never dusts. It doesn't get any worse after three years.
