A very fine mourning poem or lament our Chris, indeed one that many of us who pass this way will appreciate because you so adeptly touch upon the kind of losses we have either already, or will inevitably experience ourselves .. and furthermore, with the shifting of time and the gaining of insight, are reminded not only of who we have lost, but an increasing awareness of our own mortality and the transience of all things ..

Don't know why but this lovely poem creates two things I want to say.

You now have my urgent apologies Chris.

This poem was heavy with nostalgia and the hurt of age. It carries such commonality of emotion for many looking into the past. I find as I grow older I spend more time here. All this put in a most poetic form. Loved it Chris

"Those were the days, my friend. We thought they'd never end."
As we age, we suffer loss--even of our own personal "golden age."
Unspeakably sad. And yet, thank God for the warmth and grace we were, once,
so privileged to know.

Yes sadly, we lose our friends but retain some wonderful memories. I am truly thankful for having had the opportunity to get to know them and share fun and laughter. All good wishes.
The time thing is relentless no matter what has or will happen, it carries on quite indifferently.
