A Poem by Chris Shaw
"

muse is singing again, bringing me lyrics

"
some have found their silver
though others search for gold
some are hooked on passion
afraid they'll end up cold
.
and some are never satisfied
with a fear of growing old
yet most are quite content it seems
to find an anchor's solid hold
.
in the safety of a harbour
now surely that is priceless
those arms that long to hold you
far better than lost treasure
more valuable than gold

This poem is so beautifully relevant in today's times when most have become so material. Asides from chasing accomplishments, we envy others for the stuff they have and forget to count our loved ones as our biggest blessings. Your words always bring us to great realizations, dear Chris. Thanks for sharing such positivity today.

I love this poem which highlights the different treasures which appeal to different people. We all value very different things. The fears and anxieties of life as we age are finely penned. For me, love has always been my treasure and I've tried to give it away as much as I could to everybody, especially family and friends. True, genuine, pure, unconditional love is life's biggest treasure and it is all that exists in the next world of Spirit which we go to when we leave this human world. This wonderful poem will be as relevant in a thousand years time as it is today! Great work, Chris. Thank you for sharing...

far better to be held than to hold things that can't love us. there is no substitute for genuine love. you give us the glimmer of true gold here.

We must run the good race of life. I happen to believe in an afterlife, but our time here on this planet is so precious and people can be so fleeting... Happy thoughts, Chris

The support from loved ones has no comparison.
Silver and gold- they have no destination but chaotic journey only.

Welcome friend 🙂
I do believe love will outlast everything else and everything touched by love has a touch of immortality to it. The grape only ripens in the cluster. I enjoyed this great read.
